Video Editing Training for Bloomberg News
Recently, we were approached by Ms Maria Wood (Head of Asia Photos) of Bloomberg News to provide basic editing training for their photographers and photo editors using Adobe Premiere Pro. Customizing post production training for different clients starts with an understanding of their needs first. Then the training is designed around that needs and the schedule available for their staffs to attend this training. Their concerns were the basic fundamentals of video production, better understanding of different video codecs and compressions, video edit workflow from ingestion to completion.
As some of the Bloomberg news staff attending this class were not stationed in Hong Kong, a flexible training schedule arrangement were needed to accommodate the situation. These seasoned photographers and photo editors will be shooting their videos mainly using DSLR cameras.
Unlike still formats which are usually either Tiff, Jpeg or RAW, video formats can come in multiple flavors. AVCHD, MPG4, H.264, 25p, 50i, 24p, 29.97, 60i, 1080i, 1080p etc, can be very confusing for still photographers. Adobe Premiere Pro can edit a wide range of video and still formats which makes it convenient for today’s multi format editing environment. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to great looking videos from Bloomberg news.
